A night of rioting and clashes with police carried into the early hours of Saturday after a larger crowd splintered into smaller groups and protesters were reported smashing glass and damaging buildings across the International District and onto Capitol Hill. Just after midnight, the Amazon grocery was smashed into and there were reports of people trying to throw lit flares inside. Rioters smashed glass and vandalized the Ferrari dealership. Various other riotous acts included a smashed bus shelter, rocks thrown at the King County Children and Family Justice Center, smashed patrol car window, convention center window broken, courthouse window broken, broken windows at various other properties, rocks and other objects thrown at officers.
A total of 7 arrest made.

After several hours of peaceful gatherings and marches Saturday by thousands of people in Seattle, the crowd turned violent, throwing bottles and Molotov cocktails, setting fires, breaking windows and looting businesses.
Several police cars were set on fire or vandalized with spray paint and smashed windows. Two AR-15-style rifles were stolen from police cruisers. Both were later recovered, according to a tweet from Seattle police. Multiple officers and citizens were injured. Interstate 5 was blocked by people gathering on the roadway.

This marks the beginning of the Capital Hill Autonomous Zone (CHAZ) as protestors make speeches and paint the streets with various messages. The sign above the east precinct is spray painted to say “SEATTLE PEOPLE DEPARTMENT EAST PRECINCT.” Demonstrators use left behind resources to begin constructing their own barriers establishing a 6 block autonomous zone. A sign on one of the blockades says "You're Now Leaving the USA."
When they arrived they found a broken window, and spotted a 21-year-old man inside the business. The business owners confronted the suspect–who set fire to a desk–and retrieved business checks and computer parts stolen by the man.

As the owners held the suspect and continued to call 911, the crowd of protesters outside the garage fence grew. Several of them yell that they will burn or destroy the business and there were several threats to shoot the owners from the protesters — several of which were armed. Eventually, the protesters physically knocked down the chainlink fence that surrounds the business and rushed the yard. To appease the protesters, the suspect was released to the crowd who detained him. Members of the group returned a jacket the suspect had stolen from the business, and a member of the crowd struck the suspect in the face. The suspect then fled.

The Seattle Police Department declared a demonstration on Capitol Hill a riot Monday evening after a crowd threw rocks, bottles and fireworks at officers and attempted to breach barricades one block from the East Precinct. KOMO News also reported that someone flashed a laser at KOMO's Air4 news helicopter as it hovered over a protest on Capitol Hill on Saturday night, forcing the chopper to return to its base and land

One person was shot after an armed man drove through a crowd of demonstrators. When one demonstrator approached the car window the driver shot him.
Demonstrations at the East Precinct were similar to prior night. As the night went on there were reports of dumpster fires, objects thrown and lasers shined in the eyes of officers and national guard members. The crowd repeatedly crossed the barrier around the precinct, then forced back. A total of 9 arrested.

Mayor Durkan orders the removal of all police lines and barriers around the East Precinct in an effort to "deescalate" the situation between demonstrators and officers. Officers then removed equipment and sensitive documents, then boarded up and abandoned the facility. There is some ambiguity as to whether the decision to abandon the precinct was made by the major or the chief of police.

A man attempted to set fire to the East Precinct by pouring accelerant on debris piled up on a wall outside the building, then lighting it on fire. The fire scorched the side of the building before it was extinguished by someone using a fire extinguisher. The was later arrested.

A day later, King County Sheriff’s deputies arrested the suspect for a separate burglary in White Center.
According the Incident Commander, individuals within this group appeared to be very organized and this appeared to be a very concerted effort at property damage of certain businesses and government facilities.

A 37-year old man lured a 25 year old deaf woman into his tent with an offer of food, then attempted to rape her. The man covered her mouth and told her “do not scream” as he climbed on top of her and attempted to remove her clothing. A medic heard the commotion and intervened.

Two people were shot. Both were transported to a nearby hospital by CHAZ medics. One of the men, 19 year old Horace Lorenzo Anderson Jr, was pronounced dead at the hospital.

A 17 year old boys was shot. The teen was taken to Harborview Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the arm, police said, but he declined to speak with investigators.

A man in his 30's was shot in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. Officers and Medics met the man outside the CHOP and transported him to the hospital. The victim refused to provide any information about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

A 16 year old male, Antonio Mays, was killed and a 14 year old male was critically hurt in a shooting. It's unclear exactly what transpired. It appears that Mays and his 14 yr old companion beat a man in his 30's. This man says he gave them his keys to his white Jeep Cherokee to get them to stop.
As the boys drove the SUV through CHOP, they were fired upon by CHOP security causing them to crash into barriers. A volunteer medic who witnessed the incident stated security shot at the SUV after it crashed into a concrete barrier. There is video of the surrounding area which provides audio of the incident. Shockingly, as someone approached the vehicle after a volley of gunshots they can be heard saying “Oh, you’re not dead, huh?” followed by “Yo, you want to get pistol whipped?”

According to Seattle police, vandals targeted the West Precinct five days in a row this week. The most recent case happened June 26 when a violent protest showed at the building’s front entrance. Police said protesters smashed the main window of the entrance and also vandalized a nearby security camera.July 19, 2020
A group carrying baseball bats marched from Westlake Park. During the march, individuals within the group broke windows and tagged buildings with paint. The group headed south to the Seattle Police Headquarters and Seattle Municipal Court where they broke windows and spray painted both buildings. The group then marched to the West Precinct vandalizing businesses along the way. Once they arrived at the West Precinct, some individuals attempted to break into the building. They threw rocks, bottles and mortar-type fireworks at the officers who were outside defending the precinct. The march then made its way up to Capitol Hill, where individuals in the group committed more property damage and looting. A small fire was set inside one of the businesses after the windows were broken out. The fire was extinguished. Eventually the group went to the East Precinct where several individuals smashed out the front windows. The protesters made their way to Cal Anderson Park, where the group eventually broke up.
By the end 12 officers were injured and 2 arrest were made.

A group of about 150 people marched from Cal Anderson Park. The group roamed about the Capital Hill neighborhood, doing massive amounts of property damage, looting, shooting fireworks, and committing arson. Members of the group smashed windows of one business and then started a fire inside. The group broke into another store, dragged merchandise out onto the street and set it on fire. Reports didn't state the total number of businesses vandalized but those mentioned included Starbucks, Whole Foods, Uncle Ike's, Rove Vintage, Neko Cat Cafe, Blue Dot, and Likelihood Shoes. No arrest were made.

A march in the Capital Hill area was declared a riot. Members of the groups set fire to five work trailers at the King County Juvenile Detention Facility, which is under construction. Rioters also damaged the King County Juvenile Detention Facility. Practically every window facing 12th Avenue was broken and profanity was spray painted on the building. Several employees at the facility also saw severe damage to their personal cars, including broken windows, graffiti and slashed tires.
Several businesses were also vandalized. Starbucks was one of the businesses hit hardest. Every window was broken, profanity was spray painted on the inside and outside of the building, and merchandise was stolen. Canon restaurant was also vandalized. The owner and a cook were assaulted by at least six rioters when they tried to stop vandals from breaking his windows.
The group then moved to the East Precinct where members in the crowd threw explosives and rocks at officers. One explosion occurred along the north wall of the precinct, which blew a hole in the wall of the building. A nearby telephone pole was set on fire. An abandoned van outside the precinct was search. Inside they found firework pyrotechnics, bear mace, improvised spike strips and nails. In addition, detectives also located gas masks, shin guards/helmets and other body armor, homemade shields and other items.
In all 59 officers were injured with one being hospitalized. A total of 47 arrest were made.

A Queen Anne resident approached a group of protestors who had been marching around the area for several hours. The man asked them to quiet down. The protestors aggressively challenged the victim who began recording the incident should he be attacked. This angered the protestors, who began pointing lasers and bright lights at the victim. The victim tried to disengage and was then struck in the back of the head. Protestors took the victim’s phone. The phone was returned after they (the protestors) had deleted the recording the victim had made. Victim was transported to the hospital. An arrest was made a couple of weeks later. August 9, 2020

A group of about 100 people marched on Broadway from Cal Anderson Park. They caused significant damage to a number of businesses along the way. Vehicles associated with the crowd moved between the group and responding police vehicles in an attempt to block the officers from accessing those committing the property destruction. Seattle fire put out a small fire inside a business. Three people were arrested.

A march of about 100 people started in the International District. The group moved toward the Seattle Police Officer Guild. Someone in the crowd set off a large explosive and attempted to break out a police vehicle window. An order to disperse was made. Individuals in the crowd began throwing rocks and bottles at officers. Multiple explosives were thrown toward officers. Several officers were struck by explosives and injured. A riot was declared. A total of eighteen people were arrested.

A group marched from Cal Anderson Park to the West Precinct. Once there they vandalized the building by breaking windows and painting graffiti on the walls. The plate glass windows of a nearby coffee shop were also damaged.
The group then made their way to the East Precinct. Once there members of the group jammed exit doors with boards, rebar and quick-drying cement. As the doors were being jammed several other people started a fire outside the building near the exit door, in an attempt to set the building on fire. "I think what this shows you is that these people are intent on killing police officers," said Mike Solan, president of the Seattle Police Guild

A large crowd marched from the International District to the Seattle Police Officers Guild building blocking traffic along the way. Police began making arrest after rioters outside the police union building refused to disperse after throwing rocks, bottles and homemade explosives at police. When the crowd moved north on Fourth Avenue South, someone threw a Molotov cocktail at officers. No one was injured. Twenty two arrests were made.

A group gathered near Denny Park for an anti-police rally then marched through the area. Along the way some in the group began committing property damage on businesses, including damaging windows and tagging businesses with spray paint. As officers attempted to arrest those responsible for the property damage, other people in the group attempted to intervene, and they in turn were taken into custody. Eleven people were arrested. A group of 17 cars and approximately 50 people blocked the intersection in front of SPD HQ for about 20 minutes in protest of the police.

A group gathered at Cal Anderson Park then marched around Capitol Hill and First Hill causing occasional property damage along the way. A protestor approached the East Precinct and threw an explosive that went through a roll-up gate and exploded near waiting bike officers. A few minutes later additional people cut wires powering the security cameras to the precinct. Officers identified the individual who threw the explosive and attempted to arrest the person. As a group off bike officers attempted to make the arrest they were then assaulted with bottles and rocks. The group of protestors again moved through the streets setting dumpsters on fire and throwing explosives at officers. Multiple officers were injured. Thirteen people were arrested. A group marched from Cal Anderson Park into the surrounding area. Along the way a bank and a Metro bus were vandalized with graffiti. Graffiti was also reported on Seattle Central buildings and the shuttered Ada’s Discovery Cafe. Police gave a dispersal order after individuals busted the windows at a Starbucks and threw at least one firework inside. A total of 16 people were taken into custody.

A couples home was shot up by a drive-by gunman. They believe they were targeted because of their pro-police flag. They also stated people have come to their home several times to complain about the flag. Once a vandal scrawled "ACAB" short for "all cops are bastards" in spray paint in front of their house.

A group began marching in the street through residential neighborhoods, occasionally blocking traffic on major arterials, which delayed a Seattle Fire Department vehicle enroute to a hospital. Commanders gave several orders to disperse. Some demonstrators were also spray-painting parking signs and buildings as they went, and used a very large patio umbrella to obscure officers’ view of these acts of property damage. A group of about 50 people dressed in black marched through Capital Hill area. Members of the group smashed the windows of a Starbucks and spray-painted an Amazon van. After blocking traffic for some time and failing to disperse after warnings by police, two subjects were arrested for crimes including failure to disperse, obstructing, resisting arrest and property damage. A third person was arrested for assault on a police officer.

Protest in the Capitol Hill area. Officers witnessed members of a protest damage an ATM. The group continued on and smashed windows at a Starbucks. At that point, three arrest were made. The group marched on and caused some more property damage to businesses and residences. A fourth person was arrested for property damage before the group returned to Cal Anderson Park

The MAC building on Seattle Central’s Campus was vandalized with spray paint and broken windows. Spray painted leftist messages included Antifa zone, kill cops, fuck Andy Ngo, etc. The vandalized caused roughly $30,000 in damages to the building. Workers trying to clean-up the mess throughout the week reported being harassed and having rocks thrown at them.December 16, 2020

Police responded to Cal Anderson Park for reports of people inside the park, which remains closed. Officers attempted to contact a group of people by the soccer fields, when one person in the group spat on an officer. Police placed the man under arrest for the assault. Six people then attempted to unarrest that individual. Officers then arrested those six people. A large group of people then surrounded the officers, making it difficult to safely move the arrested individuals out of the park.December 24, 2020

Officers monitored a group which marched from Cal Anderson Park. One suspect was arrested for property damage that occurred earlier during the march. The suspect had fireworks and a glass beverage bottle full of gasoline on his person. A member of the group threw frozen eggs at officers. During the march an American flag was set on fire, and streets were blocked. Objects were dragged into the street such as scooters, parking signs and trash. Several large windwos were broken at Cafe Argento. The owner believes it was retaliation for sending a letter to Mayor Jenny Durkan last month. Officers arrested two members of the group for vandalizing the East Precinct
Employees at the King County Youth Service Center (KCYSC) reported a second group of demonstrators were possibly attempting to make entry to their facility. They also reported the group was shooting fireworks at the building.
A total of four arrest were made.

A group of about 30 gathered at Cal Anderson Park where they burned flags and drew on the fountain with chalk. They then went to the East Precinct where they drew on the outside wall with chalk. Items were thrown at the building cracking a recently replaced window. Two arrest were made.

After dealing with multiple protest earlier in the evening, police responded to an alarm call to Nordstrom's downtown location. There they found nine display windows and glass entrance doors had been vandalized. Police say the larger panes cost between $50,000 to $70,000 to replace. Another nearby business also had their windows smashed.

A group gathered at Occidental Park then marched throughout downtown. Along the way they blocked traffic and vandalized multiple buildings by breaking windows and spray painting graffiti. Members of the group confronted an individual who was filming the march with their child. The group proceeded to assault the individual filming, including the small child. Others were assaulted as the march made its way into Cal Anderson Park. The Seattle Police Department reported that during the May Day marches, "demonstrators threw bottles, rocks, paint, paint-filled eggs, regular eggs, and an unidentified liquid in a plastic zippered bag at officers." Fourteen people were arrested. May 6, 2021
